Frau.les is a brand dedicated to celebrating femininity and uplifting local artists, with a special focus on women.
I’m Marilli, the founder of Frau.les.
I was born in Athens, Greece, in 1998 — and if there’s one thing to know about me, it’s that I’ve never been able to choose just one path. For a long time, I saw this as a weakness: in university, when I struggled to settle on a thesis topic, or in my personal life, when I could never commit to mastering a single hobby.
But over the years, I’ve come to see it differently. My constant curiosity — from dance to photography to sewing and beyond — isn’t a flaw, it’s my strength. It’s what fuels my creativity, drives me to explore, and ultimately led me to build Frau.les.
This project began as a personal need — to fill a gap I felt existed in Athens’ creative scene. During Covid, many of my friends were producing beautiful works and handmade products, yet lacked the platforms and opportunities to showcase them. I realized that being talented at creating doesn’t always mean being skilled at marketing or promotion, and I wanted to bridge that gap.
In December 2021, I organized my very first bazaar through my personal Instagram. The response was incredible, and it made me realize there was potential to build a true community. That’s when Frau.les was born. The name comes from the German word “Frau” (woman), while as a whole it also means strawberry in Greek.
Over the following year, I continued hosting bazaars, refining the process for brands to participate, and slowly shaping Frau.les into something bigger. Soon, the second chapter began: collaborations. Partnering with small businesses and artists, I co-created products that highlighted their craft while reflecting the aesthetics and vision of the Frau.les brand.
In February 2023, I hosted the first Creators’ Market at the historic Bagkeion Hotel, featuring 85 participants alongside music, food, drinks, and other creative projects. It was a success — so much so that the second market followed just two months later. Since then, I’ve been curating Creators’ Markets mainly at Kypseli Municipal Market, continuously discovering and supporting Greek brands, both emerging and established.
In August 2025, I reached a milestone: opening the Frau.les store of my dreams in Kypseli. This space allows me not only to promote my own brand but also to expand, experiment, and explore new ideas and crafts.
What began as a hobby has grown into something I’m deeply proud of — a community that has given me the chance to connect with inspiring creatives, share values and dreams, and hopefully make others feel part of something bigger too.
